- Flip It – FLIP IT!® is a FREE weekly 1hr & 15m virtual series that meets for 7 weeks to provide tools for parents to increase communication with their children and help manage challenging behaviors.
- SCAN of Northern Virginia– training to provide tips & tools on parenting
- We promote the emotional and psychological well-being of Arlington County youth and families.
- We provide services to children, teens and their families to prevent mental health and substance abuse problems from developing or becoming more serious.
- We help your child/teen overcome problem thoughts, feelings or behaviors that interfere with daily life, and assist them in developing skills for healthy living.
- DHS – Behavioral Healthcare (BIS)–Strengthening Families-Strengthening Families Program/Programa Fortaleciendo la Familia (PFF) is a 7-week fun, interactive workshop for students and parents/caregivers to enhance their skills in:
- Communication
- Goal-setting
- Peer pressure resistance
- Positive management of stress and emotions
- Joint-family problem solving
- Positive discipline
- Having FUN!
- Northern Virginia Family Services– private non-profit who works with Early Childhood Development / Foster Care & Adoption / Homelessness & Housing / Health & Well-Being / Immigration Legal Services / Mental Health / Youth Initiatives / Workforce Development
- Behavior Intervention Services Helps caregivers and teachers manage challenging behaviors. Trained specialists in child behavior:
- Complete a behavioral assessment based on caretaker input and classroom observation as indicated.
- All proposed interventions reflect family values and priorities.
- Develop behavior plans with caregivers.
- Provide coaching and modeling about strategies to use to change behavior
- Provide services at schools, home, or in the community
- Referrals may be made by caregiver application
- There is a $25 fee charged monthly for up to six months of BIS services. Payment on a sliding scale is available.
