Fourth Grade

Third year teaching 4th Grade. This is the first year teaching for Arlington Public Schools.

Hello! This is my first year teaching at Abingdon ES. I am so excited to be a part of the team! When I’m not in school, I enjoy reading history books, watching soccer, and working on my family's farm.

Hello! My name is DJ Sargent. I am originally from Lake Orion, Michigan and have enjoyed exploring the DMV area. I recently graduated with a degree in comprehensive elementary education and American Sign Language education. Last year, I student taught and was a long-term substitute in a second grade classroom. This is my first year teaching at Abingdon Elementary School and I am very excited about being apart of the fourth grade team! When I’m not in school, I enjoy playing volleyball, taking my dog on walks, thrifting and listening to live music. I am looking forward to a great year!

My name is Jane Totten and this is my third year as a 4th grade Special Education Teacher at Abingdon! I earned my Bachelor's degree from the University of Michigan and my Master's in Teaching and Special Education from the University of Virginia. I live in Arlington with my husband and two boys. When I am not teaching, I enjoy volunteering in the community, carpooling kids to crew practice, cooking, and exploring the outdoors with my family. I am excited for the school year ahead!
