What is this?

WordPress is the server and host that we are using for our Abingdon Website AND our Technology PD Digital Badges.  The home page can be found under:

  • Abingdon
  • Technology
  • Tech PD

Then you will see a side menu of choices:

  • Tech F2F PD
  • Tech Flipped PD
  • Tech PD Leaders
  • Tech PD Reflections

You have all been given access to post on the Reflections Blog Page.

Basic Ways to Use This For Teaching and Learning:

This is how we will be submitting all of our documentation in order to earn badges.  In each post, you will:

  1. After completing a Face-to-Face PD or a Flipped PD, please create a blog post on this page that shares what you learned and how it has/will impact your teaching or student learning.  Your blog should be in the following format:
    • Title: YOUR NAME – NAME OF BADGE YOU ARE REFLECTING ON
    • Reflection:
      • I attended (or completed) the _______ PD.
      • Summary:
      • I like . . .
      • I am/was inspired to . . .
      • I wish . . .
      • I wonder . . .
      • In the future I hope to . . .
    • Feature Image: Screenshot or a picture of something related to what you learned.
    • Click Reflections under categories.
    • Click PUBLISH!
  2. Please take a minute to read through this blog page to see what your colleagues are up to.  Let’s learn from each other.
  3. Happy badging!

How to Earn Your WordPress Badge:

Look through the different PD opportunities.  Make a goal or vision for yourself for the 2016-2017 school year in terms of PD and technology integration in your work.  Submit a “Reflections After PD” Blog.  This FIRST reflection does not have to follow the normal reflection pattern.  Instead, your reflection should look more like this:

  • Title: Kerry Abbott – WordPress Badge
  • Reflection:
    • I completed the WordPress PD.
    • Summary:  I logged into WordPress and created a post in the Reflections Blog.
    • I like that there are so many more options for Flipped PD this year!
    • I am inspired to delve deeper into Schoology and push myself to use NearPod for self paced differentiation.
    • I wish I could have enough time to work on ALL of the badges, but I realize I will need to focus on 2-3 things this year to really benefit from them.
    • I wonder if anyone else has been using NearPod so that I can use them as a mentor.
    • In the future I hope to have my students completing flipped, self-paced assignments on Schoology through NearPod.
  • Feature Image: Screenshot or a picture of something related to what you learned.
  • Click Reflections under categories.
  • Click PUBLISH!
