Volunteer and Donation Opportunities

From APS:

We greatly appreciate the generosity of our community and offers of support. Arlington County community providers and non-profit organizations supporting the community are in need of monetary donations, cleaning supplies and food. More information can be found on the Volunteer Arlington webpage as well as AFAC.

Food Distribution that Abingdon has arranged with Real Food for Kids to support those in need in the Abingdon community:

There are still spots available if you would like to help (click here for the Sign Up Genius). We are also exploring setting up a food pantry in addition to the Real Food for Kids meals to assist families in these unprecedented times so please be on the look out for more information about that next week.

School Supplies donations:

The Abingdon PTA is collecting the following items: pencils, crayons, colored pencils, makers, scissors, glue sticks, and paper. We will be putting packets together to hand out at the food distributions for families in need.

Donations can be dropped off at:

  • Claremont – 4916 14th St SN.
  • Fairlington- 2861 S Buchanan StS.
  • Fairlington- 3426 S Stafford St

Other ways that you can help families at Abingdon and all through out Arlington are donating to the Arlington Food Assistance Center or the food bank at Our Lady Queen of Peace Food Pantry There are multiple ways to assist and sites for drop off for items, including the North Fairlington Villages Condo Office –click here for a list of requested items.
