Many of you have asked for more information about the improper handling of asbestos by the contractors at Abingdon that resulted in the school’s closure on Wednesday.
We’re happy to share with you that tests were conducted today and they all confirm the school environment is safe. As a result, we have been given the “all clear” for students and staff to return to school on Thu, Jan. 26.
Following a contractor’s breach of asbestos protocols at Abingdon Elementary School on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, APS authorized immediate testing to ensure that the school would be safe for occupancy.
