We promote the emotional and psychological well-being of Arlington County youth and families.
We provide services to children, teens and their families to prevent mental health and substance abuse problems from developing or becoming more serious.
We help your child/teen overcome problem thoughts, feelings or behaviors that interfere with daily life, and assist them in developing skills for healthy living.

Behavior Intervention Services Helps caregivers and teachers manage challenging behaviors. Trained specialists in child behavior:
Complete a behavioral assessment based on caretaker input and classroom observation as indicated.
All proposed interventions reflect family values and priorities.
Develop behavior plans with caregivers.
Provide coaching and modeling about strategies to use to change behavior
Provide services at schools, home, or in the community
Referrals may be made by caregiver application
There is a $25 fee charged monthly for up to six months of BIS services. Payment on a sliding scale is available.
